I was told that when they apply discount by clicking the % discount the 10 % and 25% limitation is not working .. it is taking any amount of discount why??
About discount limits (10% / 25%)
Entering a discount in the form does not mean it is automatically applied and the record can be finalised. If the discount exceeds the rights of the user, the transaction will go into the approval workflow.
From your example, since you mention both 10% and 25%, we assume you are referring to the discount cap at the group level. That’s correct.
How discount works in Tuhund
-
Discounts can be applied by percentage or by amount, both at record level (whole quotation/invoice) and item level (individual products).
-
You can also use a combination. For example:
-
A 5% discount applied on a quotation makes a ₹1000 item drop to ₹950.
-
If you then add a flat ₹100 discount at item level, the price drops further to ₹850.
-
The effective discount is ₹150, i.e. 15%.
-
How discount caps are enforced
-
The cap rule is checked against the effective discount (after all calculations). In the example above, the system checks against 15%.
-
Discount validation also considers the lower cut-off price defined for the product.
-
If the effective discount exceeds the user’s rights (e.g. 10% or 25%), the record will not auto-finalise. It will go into the approval cycle, even if the form accepts the input.
In short: The system does allow you to enter any discount, but the caps are enforced at validation/approval stage, not at input stage. However, the system does prevent entry of price outside price limits plus tolerance in the forms.
